About Alesia

How it started:

Born from the boredom of the first lockdown in 2020, we were formed in Glasgow composing of
members Ruari Elder, Matthew Madsen, Jacob Manning, Yanis Yekken and Michael Nolan. Starting off as something to do to fill the time we quickly found the band becoming more serious as we began writing our own songs.

Tired of the state of the current music scene, we saw serious potential in our own material, and collectively decided to take a more serious approach. Contacting local promoters, RCMS saw the talent in us and provided us with regular gig opportunities at a young age.

Our Influences:
Our influences include Fontaines D.C, Oasis, Stone Roses, Sex Pistols, Jimi Hendrix, The Smiths, The La’s and Joy Division and Teenage Fanclub.

Our Music and Live Gigs:

The atmosphere at our gigs is one of the most electric on the music scene.

Our songs are a unique blend of the brashness of garage and punk rock with the melodic sound of indie rock, as well as making them feel distinctive to us.
Within a year we went from playing empty rooms in Paisley to headlining a highly anticipated show at the prestigious St Luke’s to an explosive crowd. Our ability to control a crowd and make them feel part of something chaotic and special Is what defines us as a band. The blend between the message and energy of our songs assures a bouncing crowd. We interact with the crowd constantly and consistently as if every person in the room was one of our own, building a dynamic atmosphere that makes the night what it is. If it's not jumping, it’s not an Alesia gig.

Releases:
We released our debut single ‘Young’ on the 7th of April with a follow up single ‘Fancy Another Go’ on the 21st of April. Our new single Escosia is due out on 6th October.

The future:

We have grown mostly through word of mouth and the atmosphere of our gigs resulting in our rapidly growing reputation as one of the most exciting bands about. Our ambition and drive have no ends and we are fully committed in all our resources and efforts to become a name which will stand the test of time.
